CHALLENGE
Corning manufactures end to end fiber optic solutions in their Reynosa, Mexico facility. The manufacturing process requires both high levels of light and even light distribution. In order to meet corporate light level requirements, facility management needed to maintain a 60 foot candle standard, and wanted to make sure that the fixture that they chose would leave no uncertainty about performance once they were installed.
SOLUTION
After considering multiple fixture configurations and solutions, Aelux suggested a 6-lamp T5HO that provided a 65 foot candle average with a 1.68 max/min ration, meaning that the areas with the highest foot candle concentration and lowest foot candle configuration were almost identical (a perfect distribution would be 1.0). The project was a success that not only provided superb optics but significant energy savings, as well.
